Phil was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule to speak with my graduate students for nearly two hours. All of them are budding creative entrepreneurs, and Phil gave us a look under the hood at how he manages everything from marketing to finances to the core message and purpose of Final Bow for Yellowface. He was engaging and patient, and answered every single one of the many questions my students threw his way. While Phil has the artistic expertise to be a leader in the field of dance, he also has deep experience as an arts manager; all of this made for a valuable session that aligned with the curriculum and my students’ needs.

We are grateful for the time Phil took to share his thoughts and experiences on orientalist representations in Western performing arts. Our programs are intended to provide new perspectives on the culture of fashion and Phil’s input certainly fulfilled that goal.
